Michelle

Coach Michelle's path to circus was an unexpected one, trading academia for the world of circus in 2017 when her daughter joined the Salt Spring Island Middle School circus program. What started with preparing costumes for the annual show gradually grew into a larger role, and by 2020 Michelle had taken on the administration of the Tsunami Circus program. When the middle school closed in 2022, Michelle helped lead the merger of Tsunami Circus and Salt Spring Gymnastics, creating what is now Salt Spring Circus and Gymnastics. She now serves as the Tsunami Program Coordinator and as a German Wheel coach. 

Michelle loves the teamwork and the magic that happens when a group comes together with a shared goal. She values the dedication of the volunteer team and believes in the power of hard work, collaboration, and community.

Fun fact: While she's surrounded by athletes and coaches who love flying through the air, Michelle prefers to keep both feet firmly on the ground, making her 2026 Circus name, Vertigo, especially fitting!
