Kipp

Coach Kipp began his gymnastics journey as a Teddybean and Jellybean in the elementary school gym on Bowen Island, BC. Born and raised on Bowen Island, Kipp later made the move to Salt Spring Island, where he raised his three children. Kipp's coaching journey began when he brought his oldest child to a parent and tot class at Fulford Hall. Before long, he had joined the coaching team and went on to serve as Head Coach for Salt Spring Gymnastics Association for many years. 

After taking a break from coaching to clear land and build his family home, he couldn't stay away from the gym for too long. Today, Kipp is back at SSCG, where he gets to teach his favourite classes: our parent and tot and preschool gymnastics programs. His favourite part of every class is setting up creative gymnastics stations and seeing what the kids can do with them. 

Fun fact: Kipp paddled a kayak all the way from Squamish to Salt Spring when he moved here over 20 years ago...and he can still hold a handstand!
