Is Tsunami Circus Right for You?
The Tsunami Circus Troupe seeks dedicated youth with prior circus experience who demonstrate:
- strong commitment and teamwork
- safe, responsible behaviour
- consistent engagement throughout the year.
Applicants should be eager to contribute creatively to group acts and performances.
Admission is based on both technical ability and on personal qualities such as attitude, maturity and collaborative spirit.
Students who are developing the following skills and qualities are encouraged to apply
Prerequisites
Applicants should have skills appropriate for the Tsunami group they are applying to:
- Juniors- Basic fundamental skills in at least 3 circus disciplines
- Waves- Fundamental skills in at least 3 circus disciplines, plus refined skills in 1 or more disciplines
- Seniors- Intermediate level skills in at least 2 circus disciplines
Additional Qualities
- Reliable attendance, focus and maturity that support productive training
- Demonstrated safety awareness and responsible equipment use
- Positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with others
- Creative participation during group work, choreography, and act development,
- Consistent dedication and growth toward performance readiness demonstrated in previous classes and shows.
- Physical readiness for intensive circus training, both in the gym and at home (Circus homework)

Program Fees
| Group | Fee | Details |
| Seniors | $1,350 | Includes $200 refundable volunteer fee (after 20 hours) |
| Waves & Juniors | $800 | Includes $200 refundable volunteer fee (after 20 hours) |
Additional Costs
- $100 gear fee (collected in January for team apparel)
Payment Options
- Pay in full or in 3 installments via credit card.
- Financial aid may be available through Kidsport, Jumpstart or A4K.
- Additional payment and registration information will be sent to applicants upon acceptance to the program.
Additional Requirements
- Attendance at all practices and rehearsals (exceptions only for rare circumstances, with notice)
- Commitment to at-home training (circus homework)
- Adult volunteer time:
- 10 hours of adult volunteer time during the term
- 10 hours during show prep/show weekend
- Bring 2 dozen snacks for the show concession

Season: January 14 - May 10
Tsunami Juniors & Tsunami Waves
- Fridays 3:45-5:30
- Instructional Fridays 4:30-5:30 PM.
Tsunami Seniors
- Wednesdays, 7-8:30
- Fridays, 6-8:30
- Includes Instructional Fridays.
Show Rehearsals:
- Saturdays: April 4, 11, 18, 25
- After school: April 27-30
- Tech weekend: May 1-3
- After school: May 4-5
Show Dates
- Wednesday May 6: Dress rehearsal (after school)
- Thursday May 7: Evening performance
- Friday May 8: Late afternoon performance
- Saturday May 9: Matinee and evening performances
- Sunday May 10: Teardown and cleanup.
